According to Fox News U.S. writer, “how bad is gun violence gotten in Sacramento?” Really bad, and no this is not a riddle, it is reality. Both Sacramento and the city of Richmond are experiencing numerous murders caused by gang members. As a result, the City Council members have reached way down into the corners of their brains to figure out a way to stop the pointless violence and they came up with the age-old solution: MONEY. Lots of green money; $1.5 million vested in a program called “Advance Peace.”
Only in America could killers be paid not to kill! What a concept. Of course, what’s the deal and what’s the penalty? Here’s the deal. Sacramento will pay gang members to graduate school and stop shooting,” according to Blue Lives Matter.
To continue, and here is a very ludicrous statement to wrap your head around. “If a gang member wants to start killing people they’ll be forfeiting their taxpayer-funded payday.” Does this make your head spin? It gets worse with this next quote from the Blue Officer, writer for Blue Lives Matter. “The money will go to 50 men who are suspected of killing people, but there’s not enough evidence to prosecute them.
OK. Could one say these 50 men may have gotten away with murder and because, they have the potential to murder again City Council will gamble on the bet that money will deter them? Let’s put this in perspective. Fifty men will get about $1,000 per month for 9 months if they meet certain criteria. Is that right? The amount is considerable and may well be a deterrent.
According to Nicole Clavo, mother a slain son who states, “Fifty is a large number…if we can reach those 50, how many lives have we changed?” Most don’t believe this type of program works, which is virtually just a promise. In closing, “there is insufficient evidence-based data to show this approach is effective in preventing gun violence, according to District Attorney, Anne Marie Shubert. But there is data that is positive coming from Richmond’s program.
