Predication #1. Los Angeles will become “The Marijuana Capital,” according to Forbes Magazine writer Debra Borchardt. LA will be America’s hottest marijuana market, cites Newsweek Magazine. Borchardt has 5 more predictions about the upcoming legalization and licensing of recreational pot stores in Los Angeles, which is about to take place statewide – January, 2018! OK, pre-Thanksgiving. Let’s have a little fun with these predictions and how they might materialize, or vaporize, as the case may be.
Prediction #2. A Sport’s League Will Green Light Marijuana (because of the injuries to the players). Let’s set the stage and call this scenario, “A day in the life of a Recreational User.” As Angelino’s, we love our teams, albeit the Laker’s, Dodgers or Clippers. Let’s suppose we are at one of their games, and some players may have had an injury –light up with medical marijuana! Of course, the audience has already imbibed in recreational pot. It could be a great afternoon for all involved. Oh by the way, to get to the game – don’t drive under the influence, and don’t light up in the stadium – public smoking is banned within 800 feet of parks, bars, beaches and schools. Stadiums?
Be aware when you return to your hotel, if you are a tourist – no smoking on your balcony. But have no fear, you won’t be bored lighting up inside your home or hotel room, because Prediction #3 says there will be A Primetime Network Show with a Marijuana Theme. NBC (Primetime) is developing a show called BUDS; a comedy about a Denver dispensary.
Of course, if you don’t want to smoke it, there are extracts. Predication # 4 says there will be An Increase in Interest for Synthetic CBD. Although, the DEA battles over “the legality of cannabis extracts like cannabinoids,” so synthetic CBDs are surfacing. Biotech is jumping on this one. As always, when competition enters the arena, entrepreneurs are quick to note “as market supplies grow, prices will fall, causing a commoditizing effect.” In other words, brand building will occur with lots of value adds, such as storytelling about your product. It’s all about marketing, which is Prediction #5, The Growth of Craft Marijuana.
Last, Predication #6, Recycling Marijuana Failures. If your crop fails the standard test, there may be a new loophole in the law – “allow for these harvests to be turned into solvent-based concentrates that would be considered safe.” Time to light up? It’s going to be a ru$h to the fini$h for entrepreneur$.
New industries are in sight everywhere and with the high (no pun intended) population count in Lo$ Angele$ – it’s a no- brainer dude!
