Acme Bail Bonds is a bail bonds agency established by Scott J Esparza, who has been a licensed bail agent for over 30 years. He solidified his years of experience with the formation of Acme Bail Bonds.
It is not a place that you want to find yourself in need of a bail bond. This means that you have been arrested and placed in jail for some charge. That said, if this event should take place in your life, you need to know where you can turn to for 24/7 access to the bail bonds that you require. With this in mind, we want you to know that at ACME Bail Bonds, we offer this service, and we would like to explain a little more about how it all works.
Posting bail is a way for defendants in criminal cases to regain their freedom while they await a trial date. This is important because those defendants would much rather be free to work on their legal defense rather than be locked up behind bars waiting. As such, the bail system allows them to get out now. However, the bail amounts set by judges are typically fairly high and are not easy for most defendants to afford on their own.
Fortunately, this is where we step in. The courts allow the defendant to pay as little as 10% of their bail bond to a bail bonds company like our own and have the company put up the remainder of the money. Then, as long as the defendant shows up for all of their required court appearances, the bond is returned to the company.
Let’s use a hypothetical example to help explain how the bail process might work. Imagine the following scenario:
The defendant is picked up on a charge of disorderly conduct and taken to jail. They go before a judge and have their bail set at $2,500 as it is their first offense. The defendant does not have the full $2,500 to shell out for themselves, but they can afford to put up $250. They pay the $250 to Acme Bail Bonds, and we put up the remaining $2,250 on their behalf.
The defendant is freed from jail that same night and can begin working on their defense. As long as they show up for all of their scheduled court appearances, Acme Bail Bonds receives the full $2,500 back, and the defendant only ever had to pay $250 for their freedom.
We navigate these types of scenarios with our customers all the time. We help them get their freedom back for far less money than what they would have to pay if they had to do it all on their own.
